What information do we collect? How do we use it?

We collect this information under the authority of the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (“FIPPA)”, and in particular, section 26(c): the information relates directly to and is necessary for a program or activity of a public body; and section 26(d): (i) the individual the information is about has consented in the prescribed manner to that collection, and (ii) a reasonable person would consider that collection appropriate in the circumstances. We summarize data collected about organizations and self-audit results to provide benchmarking information for all our users. We use this information under the authority of FIPPA: section 32(a): for the purpose for which the information was obtained or compiled, or for a use consistent with that purpose; or section 32(b): the individual the information is about has consented in the prescribed manner to the use.

Your personal information will never be disclosed. Data you enter during your working sessions (for example, completing forms and worksheets) is saved for you to access in future sessions, but will never be disclosed to others.

We may also use the information we collect to occasionally notify you about workshops and training courses we think you’ll find valuable. If you would rather not receive this information, please e-mail info@roadsafetyatwork.ca and you will be removed from our e-mail lists.

We also monitor visitor traffic patterns and site usage to help us develop and improve our site.

Will Road Safety at Work disclose the information it collects to outside parties?

We will never disclose, sell or give away our user list and information to anyone.
