Top contributing factors

The top contributing factor in fatal crashes is speed. In 2016,it was a contributing factor in 30 per cent of fatal crashes. Distraction is only slightly behind. It is a contributing factor in 28 per cent of fatal crashes. The third top contributing factor is impaired, a factor in 22 per cent of fatal crashes.

All three are driving issues that employers can and should create, implement and monitor policies to manage.
