ICBC provides annual statistical summaries of crashes that occur in BC that include all BC drivers and reported crashes, not just work-related crashes. As such, ICBC data doesn’t necessarily provide an apples-to-apples perspective of the characteristics and causes of work-related motor vehicle crashes. But it is a comprehensive data set that provides a broad view into BC’s crash history, and it does provide valuable insights of where, when and why crashes are occurring in BC. Employers can use this data to identify and manage their driving-related risks.
This data is available in the ICBC quick statistics report, but here are three interesting points which have implications for employers, managers, supervisors and drivers.
