The issue of work-related motor vehicle crashes is a significant one for BC workers and employers. On average each year, 1,375 workers are killed or injured and miss time from work as a result of a motor-vehicle crash. That’s an average of seven people every working day.
The first graph below shows the number of WorkSafeBC time-loss claims resulting from motor vehicle crashes in the 2013-2017 period. The second graph below shows the number of crash-related fatalities during the period.
